Everything You Need to Know About Lady Gaga and Adam Driver’s ‘House of Gucci’

A major crime drama is in the making

High fashion is no stranger to the silver screen. Countless movies, documentaries, and tv series have been released over the last few decades, tracing the lives and careers of the most influential and prominent designers. There was the César-nominated Yves Saint Laurent in 2014, Netflix’s The Assassination of Gianni Versace, the revealing Reiner Holzemer documentary Margiela in his Own Words, and the gripping McQueen, to name a few.

This year, we have House Of Gucci, an upcoming Ridley Scott full-length feature is expected to be released next November.

Based on the real-story of the murder of Maurizio Gucci (grandson of Gucci’s founder Guccio Gucci), the now in-the-works crime drama will actually be an adaptation from Sara Gay Forden’s recounting of the story in her non-fiction book House Of Gucci: A sensational story of Murder, Madness, Glamour and Greed’ which was published in 2000. The movie is set to focus on the couple’s story, and Patrizia Reggiani -Maurizio Gucci’s ex-wife- who was convicted of plotting his murder in 1995.

Starring Adam Driver and Lady Gaga as Maurizio and Patrizia respectively, along with Al Pacino and Jared Leto, as Maurizio’s father and brother, the movie is set to be filmed in several locations in Italy, but mainly in Rome.

This week we got a first official teaser, as the singer posted a picture with Adam Driver on her Instagram, captioned with ‘Signore & Signora Gucci’ (meaning Mr. & Mrs. Gucci), gaining over 4M likes in 24hours.

Although the movie is still in the filming stage, on-set images from different scenes have already started surfacing on the internet, giving us a peek into what the movie is going to look like, the visuals and aesthetics, and most importantly the outfits. To say we’re excited is an understatement.
