Season 2 of ‘Dubai Bling’ Delayed Due to Horrific Events in Gaza

it was meant to drop this month

According to reports from Arabian Business, the hotly-anticipated second season of Dubai Bling has been postponed amid Israel’s ongoing bombardment of Gaza. The new season of the Netflix series, which was allegedly set to drop on the streaming platform next week, is being pushed back indefinitely as producers believe it would be insensitive to air the show amidst the genocide in Gaza. A new launch date hasn’t been announced, however, sources tell the publication the new season of the drama-filled reality show following Dubai’s ultra-wealthy will likely premiere towards the end of the year.

Netflix offered a sneak peek of what viewers can expect from the second season of Dubai Bling by way of an official trailed released on Oct. 13. “They did the teaser but they have said that right now is absolutely the wrong time to be boasting about how rich and successful you are, and how many nice cars and houses you have, which is pretty much what the show is about,” the source told Arabian Business.

Following a highly-successful first season— the series was the third-most watched non-English-language TV show in the week of its release and reached the top 10 list in 47 countries around the world after launching on Oct. 27, 2022— Netflix confirmed the return of the reality show back in February.

While not much information was disclosed, according to Netflix, season 2 of Dubai Bling will be as thrilling as ever. The streaming platform said at the time in a press statement: “Netflix is once again offering audiences an Access All Areas pass to the lives of some of Dubai’s wealthiest and most extravagant personalities, with season two of smash hit Arabic reality TV show, Dubai Bling. With glitz and glamour galore, ‘Dubai Bling’ is set to bring back the friendships, the enemies and, of course, the drama.”

Season two will feature both familiar faces and new blood, including US-Iraqi Mona Kattan, who will be joining the cast. The entrepreneur, who is the sister of businesswoman and makeup artist Huda Kattan, revealed on Instagram that she will be among eight other self-made millionaires.

We can probably expect original cast members including Safa Siddiqui, Zeina Khoury, Farhana Bodi, Lojain Omran, Kris Fade, Ebraheem Al Samadi, Loujain “LG” Adada, and DJ Bliss to all return too.

In the meantime, those who are patiently waiting for new episodes can entertain themselves by rewatching the first season of Dubai Bling, which is still streaming on Netflix.
