Valentino is Handing its Instagram Over to Emerging Designers

Putting the next generation of talent under the spotlight

Making a name in the fashion industry is far from being easy. But some brands are now willing to change and challenge this dynamic. Maison Valentino has just recently decided to shed light on the designers of tomorrow through a new initiative that many will surely appreciate.

Starting next Milan fashion week, which will take place in February, the Italian powerhouse will allow a handful of designers and creatives to take over their Instagram account in order to introduce and present their latest works and collections. The luxury fashion house has decided to kick off this new series with Marco Rambaldi, an up-cycling and gender-bending brand born out of the Southern city of Bologna.

“We decided to approach designers whose sensitivity resonates with our core identity values. Marco Rambaldi’s show in Via Lecco was such a graceful and powerful celebration of humanity and a kaleidoscopic vision of beauty. That’s why we decided to start this new project with his collection and I am sure that this will be the beginning of something that will give new energies and inspiration to all of us,” the Maison commented.

In partnership with Camera della Moda Italiana, Valentino will put its 15.7 million followers to good use as they’ll keep on spotlighting brands every fashion season on from now. Rambaldi, which is the first brand to be invited to take part, is explicitly grateful for the support and opportunity provided.

“I believe that with this collaboration Valentino affirms the desire not only to continue to write its own history, but to spread and nurture all Italian fashion in the decades to come. A Maison that works alongside an emerging brand breaks the boundaries, steps outside the box, regenerates connections,” he says.

Calling for the next creative renaissance, this move is one that we only hope that other brands will follow soon.
