Alexander McQueen Just Dropped the Bag of the Season

Introducing the Curve bag

Alexander Mcqueen Creative director, Sarah Burton, just presented her Women’s Spring 2021 Ready-To-Wear along with Men’s Pre-Fall last December with a melancholic film set under the greyish skies of London, and we’re in love.

Entitled ‘First Light’, the film directed by Jonathan Glazer sees models cutting through the River Thames in ballgowns and hanging out under the London bridges.

With constructed silhouettes and molded waists, Burton tapped into the house’s hybridization approach as a biker jacket is paired with puffy tulle sleeves and a double-breasted coat with cocoon-shaped sleeves.

Denim and biker jackets codes are reinterpreted alongside ball skirts and deconstructed tees styled with the star accessory of the collection: The Curve Bag.

A nod to the harness silhouette, the body of the bag is hugged by a molded harness with hand-finished edges. The Alexander McQueen signature appears embossed on the front while a double-flap closure gives the piece its elliptical structure.

Monochromatic or tricolored, the bag can be worn cross body or over the shoulder thanks to its adjustable strap.

An ultimate summer must-have, the Curve Bag was copped by the region’s own style icons from Dima Sheikhly and Leena Al Ghouti to Parvané Barret and Lana Al Beik.
