A vague iteration of the words ‘get in shape’ has probably made it onto your ambitious list of new year’s resolutions. Research has shown that the top three most common resolutions revolve around diet and exercise. It also shows that only about eight per cent of us actually achieve them. 

Why? Behavioural scientists concluded that this probably has a lot to do with the fact that our resolutions are too vague. Rather than setting an ambiguous goal of ‘exercising more’, we need to be a little more specific. 

One easy way to combat this is to make it your goal to add one simple exercise to our morning routine instead. Forget spending lots of money on complicated classes, the internet is littered with simple workouts, so you don’t even have to leave your house to get into shape.
