Back in December, the fashion world lit up as Rihanna announced the recruitment of Jordanian-Romanian designer Amina Muaddi as the head of footwear division for her LVMH-backed label Fenty. And after months of anticipation, the debut collaboration is finally here.

With her signature flared-heel designs spotted on some of the world’s biggest names including Riri herself, Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner (to name a few), bringing Muaddi on board makes perfect sense.
And if the Fenty shoe collection is any indication, Muaddi is still at the top of her game. No flared heel in sight, but Muaddi’s touch is still ever-present, albeit with an edgy touch that’s more aligned with Rihanna’s ultra-utilitarian aesthetic. The standout? Their ‘Caged In’ sandal, a lace-up heeled shoe said to be inspired by the shape and strength of steel nails.

The collection comes alongside a slew of new releases by multi-hyphenate creative Rihanna. The singer-turned-designer has just announced the launch of Fenty Skin, marking the Barbadian artist’s first foray into skincare.
